About the CD
This album is dedicated to the honor of Our Lady during the Marian year at La Salette. Its purpose is to give our students an opportunity to cultivate their talents and direct them towards God's honor and glory. Finally, it's a fundraiser to help enable this academy to continue its work of teaching and forming Catholic young men.
The CD was recorded on location at our campus, and was performed entirely by our students under the direction of Mr. William Boyer. Practices were kept fairly short and efficient, since music is only one facet, albeit an important one, of a Catholic man's formation. The workload was distributed among the students, each class separately preparing a few selections for the CD. Although the whole school contributed, some students contributed more than others according to their talent and time available. Below is a description of each track including who performed it.
The St. Melchior Schola contributed a great deal to this CD. Almost half of our students voluntarily sing in either the St. Andrew or St. Blaise schola. These scholae sing on alternating Sundays to reduce the workload. But a chosen 12 members also join the elite St. Melchior Schola, which sings for special feasts and learns more challenging repertoire.
